Candy Bleakz robbery in South Africa sparks outrage after attackers stole jewellery and injured her despite security presence

28 November 2025 — Nigerian singer and rapper Candy Bleakz has alleged that attackers stormed her South African apartment, assaulted her and escaped with her gold jewellery in what she described as a deeply troubling Candy Bleakz robbery incident carried out in front of on-site security personnel.

Candy Bleakz, whose real name is Akiode Blessing, recounted the ordeal on her Snapchat page, saying that the assailants struck her repeatedly and fled unchallenged. She said the response from emergency personnel was slow, adding that the ambulance she called failed to arrive despite the severity of the attack.

The artist wrote that while her jewellery was taken, her phones were curiously left untouched. She said she believed the attackers specifically targeted her, noting that no other residents were robbed or harmed during the incident.

Candy Bleakz also criticised security staff in the building, claiming that the officials watched as the criminals walked away unhindered. She added that police officers later told her they were legally restricted from breaking into the suspects’ vehicle, a response she described as bewildering.

The singer said she reported the incident formally but had received no meaningful assistance. Despite the frightening experience, she assured fans that she was recovering and expressed gratitude for being alive, calling the ordeal a powerful reminder of vulnerability even in supposedly secure environments.
