Blaqbonez Advocates Open Marriage in Podcast Interview

Rapper Blaqbonez says he’s open to non-monogamy in marriage, arguing sexual passion fades and emotional connection should outweigh exclusivity.

Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has stirred online debate after revealing his openness to non-monogamous relationships and open marriage, stating that sexual exploration outside marriage should be acceptable.

Speaking during a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast, the outspoken rapper argued that the intensity of sexual desire in marriage diminishes over time, making it unrealistic to expect lifelong exclusivity without flexibility.

“Most married couples don’t keep having the same amount of sex they had at the beginning. It will reduce,” he said.

Blaqbonez maintained that sexual fidelity should not be the sole foundation of marriage, especially when one partner is often away due to professional commitments like touring or work.

“If somebody is satisfying her sexually while I’m hustling, touring, and not available, that is okay,” he said.
“There’s more to marriage than sex. I don’t mind that you’re sleeping with someone else provided you’re dedicated to me.”

The rapper went further to suggest that no outsider could match the emotional and intellectual bond he would share with his wife, asserting that casual sexual experiences lack the depth to rival a marital connection.

“Nobody is just going to get her sexually and also mentally addicted to them. They probably can’t make her laugh the way I do.”

He also added that he would prefer a marriage arrangement with separate bedrooms, only coming together with his wife for intimacy when both desire it.

“If I’m even going to get married, I need two rooms. Me and my wife will only meet when we want to have intimacy.”

Blaqbonez’s comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising his honesty and modern approach to relationships, while others criticised his views as controversial and inconsistent with traditional marital values.
