Bimbo Akintola single at 52 is not by choice, but by life’s difficult circumstances, according to the celebrated Nollywood veteran.

In a candid interview with Pulse Nigeria, the actress shared an emotional glimpse into her personal life, revealing why she remains unmarried and childless at this stage in her life.

Akintola disclosed that she once found someone she believed was her lifelong partner but tragically, he passed away. Since then, she admits, no one else has truly fit the role of a lifelong companion.

“I haven’t found the person I would do the rest of my life with. I did find — but he died,” she said.

The veteran star, born to a father from Oyo State and a mother from Edo State, emphasized that marriage is sacred to her not a mere societal expectation but a spiritual bond meant to be entered truthfully and wholeheartedly.

She expressed her deep respect for marriage, stating it should be done “in the house of God” and surrounded by loved ones.

Despite the years gone by, Bimbo Akintola remains open to love. She revealed she’s willing to marry at any age — even at 78 if she finds someone with whom she can be genuinely herself.

“I want to be true to myself and to God,” she added.

In a world where pressure mounts for women to conform to timelines, Akintola’s reflections highlight the quiet strength of choosing truth over pretense.

While she acknowledged the reality of loneliness, especially as one grows older, she stressed that companionship in later years must be built on authenticity, not desperation.
