BeatzbySpec Unveils Bold New Identity in Afrobeats

BeatzbySpec identity unveiled as Afolabi Ebenezer Ayomide rebrands from SpecBeatz, expanding his Afrobeats production, performance, and recording ventures

Afrobeats producer and songwriter Afolabi Ebenezer Ayomide has officially rebranded, announcing that he will now operate professionally under the name BeatzbySpec.

The announcement was made in Lagos on Thursday as part of a broader restructuring of his creative ecosystem.

Formerly known as SpecBeatz, Ebenezer described the rebrand as a strategic move aligned with the next phase of his career and long-term artistic goals.

He emphasised that the change represents more than a name; it establishes a clearer structure for his multi-faceted roles within Nigeria’s vibrant Afrobeats industry.

Under the new arrangement, Ebenezer will function through three distinct identities: Boyspec, his performance and stage persona; Spec’s Lab, the recording and production hub driving his sound; and BeatzbySpec, his dedicated producer identity.

“This transformation marks our evolution from a passion-driven pursuit into a fully registered, structured creative enterprise capable of producing top-tier content and nurturing emerging talent,” he said.

Ebenezer’s musical journey began in the church, where he learned guitar and keyboard under the support of his mother.

While rooted in spiritual music, much of his production skill was self-taught through YouTube tutorials and hands-on experimentation.

His professional breakthrough came through mentorships with industry figures including Timmy Gee, WiseBee, Director TZ, Zhestabad, and the Agege duo 2TBoyz.

These connections helped refine his sound and establish his reputation in Afrobeats production.

Today, BeatzbySpec has built an impressive portfolio, collaborating with artists such as Rybeena, Oladips, Ladé, TeeMirror, BreezyBawz, DaProf, Doski, Lavish, Destiny Boy, Cazulee, Shaypee, and other emerging talents.

Ebenezer said the BeatzbySpec identity embodies a renewed commitment to excellence, structure, and sustainable growth.
