The milestone was reached after the track surpassed 30 million streams, the threshold required under current SNEP guidelines.

Released on October 1, 2019, through Starboy Records and RCA, Joro was produced by Northboi. The single blends Afrobeat rhythms with melodic hooks, a style that defined Wizkid’s global crossover era.

The official music video has accumulated over 330 million views on YouTube, ranking among the most-watched African music videos internationally.

Joro has also received international certifications, including Gold in Canada for exceeding 40,000 units and Gold in the United States after surpassing 500,000 units sold.

The Platinum recognition in France marks Wizkid’s fifth SNEP plaque, joining his diamond and gold certifications from collaborations with Drake, MHD, Major Lazer, and his Grammy-nominated single Essence featuring Tems.

The achievement highlights the continued global influence of Afrobeats, particularly in France, where Nigerian artists such as Burna Boy, Rema, CKAY, and Ayra Starr have secured multiple diamond and platinum certifications.
