VeryDarkMan Reacts Emotionally to Oyo School Kidnapping

VeryDarkMan speaks on the Oyo school kidnapping, highlighting the sacrifices teachers make despite poor pay and insecurity

Social media activist VeryDarkMan has expressed concern over the recent kidnapping of teachers and students in Oyo State, saying the incident struck a personal chord because his mother is a teacher.

Reacting in a video shared online, VeryDarkMan lamented the challenges facing educators in Nigeria, including poor remuneration and growing security threats, despite their contributions to society.

According to him, the abduction of school personnel and students highlighted the risks many teachers face while carrying out their duties.

“Because my mother is also a teacher, this feels a lot different. They don’t even pay teachers enough for them to be going through this,” he said.

The activist revealed that his mother, who works in a private school, frequently complains about inadequate pay but remains committed to teaching because of her passion for children.

“My mother works in a private school and she complains about not getting paid enough but she can’t stop because she loves these children. That is the story of all the teachers in Nigeria,” he added.

The comments followed the kidnapping incident at a secondary school in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, where gunmen reportedly abducted the school principal and several students during school hours.

The incident has triggered widespread concern, with many Nigerians calling for stronger security measures around schools and improved welfare for teachers.
