Former Big Brother Naija housemate and entrepreneur Uriel Oputa has questioned the growing tendency among couples to take private relationship disagreements to social media, urging partners to consider resolving their differences away from the public eye.

Oputa raised the issue in a social media post on Monday, September 28, 2026, questioning why personal disputes between couples have increasingly become public conversations online.

“When did social media become the family court?” Oputa asked.

The reality star said she hopes to have a partner who understands that not every disagreement needs to be shared with the public.

Oputa argued that couples should first consider honest communication when dealing with disagreements.

“Social media doesn’t love you the way you think it does,” Oputa said.
