Nigerian reality star and actor Teddy A has sparked widespread debate after sharing his views on marriage, ambition and partnership during a recent podcast interview.

Speaking on the Echo Room Podcast, Teddy A stated that he prefers women who are hardworking and ambitious, adding that he is not interested in marrying a full-time stay-at-home wife.

He said, “I love to support a woman. I have no problem having a high-value woman. I don’t want a stay-at-home wife. We both got to get it.”

The reality star explained that he believes relationships should be built on teamwork, where both partners contribute actively towards building their future together.

According to him, mutual effort in marriage creates a stronger foundation and allows couples to enjoy shared success over time.

However, parts of the discussion became tense when he expanded on his views about submission and gender roles in relationships, prompting pushback from some of the women present during the conversation.

One participant referenced biblical teachings on marriage, arguing that husbands are expected to love their wives sacrificially, a point that triggered further disagreement during the session.

Teddy A responded by questioning the practicality of such expectations, adding a sarcastic remark about whether women would remarry after a husband “dies” loving them sacrificially.

The discussion also comes amid ongoing speculation surrounding his marriage to fellow reality star BamBam, following recent social media activity that fuelled rumours of a possible split.

Although neither party has confirmed any separation, Teddy A has previously addressed aspects of his family life, including fatherhood and his commitment to his children.
