Speaking on The Honest Bunch Podcast, the Nigerian singer and songwriter, best known for hits like Irawo and Right Now, reflected on her long-standing professional relationship with Afrobeats icon Wizkid.

“I did Crazy with Wizkid. I featured him on the song, and he featured me on one of his own. I also did some background vocals for a few of his other tracks. We became genuine friends,” she shared.

Seyi Shay praised Wizkid’s extraordinary musical ability, revealing that she was captivated by his genius from the beginning.

“He’s incredibly smart and talented. I’ve seen him record while eating, and that was mind-blowing to me. He’s like a magician,” she said, adding that her spirit naturally gravitates toward people with what she described as “inhuman talent”.

Their bond extended beyond studio sessions, as Wizkid often served as a mentor and adviser during the early stages of her music journey.

“He used to advise me a lot about how people behave in this industry. He really helped me understand fame and the business,” she explained.
