Sanwo-Olu appoints Ayodele Ogunsan as LSSTF Executive Secretary and Babatunde Ogala as LASU Governing Council chair to boost Lagos security and education.

Sanwo-Olu Appoints Ayodele Ogunsan as the new Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), marking another decisive step in his administration’s drive to strengthen public safety and institutional efficiency across the state.

The appointment of Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, a respected security expert and public administrator, was announced in a circular signed by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, on Friday, October 31, 2025. The statement confirmed that Ogunsan’s appointment takes immediate effect.

According to the circular, the move forms part of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s broader strategy to enhance Lagos’s security framework and ensure improved protection for residents and businesses.

Mr Agoro also conveyed the governor’s appreciation to the outgoing Executive Secretary, Dr Abdurrazaq Balogun, commending his “formidable and invaluable contributions” to the growth and achievements of the LSSTF. Sanwo-Olu wished him success in his future endeavours, acknowledging his role in strengthening Lagos’s security architecture.

In a related development, the governor announced the appointment of Babatunde Ogala (SAN) as chairman of the newly constituted Lagos State University (LASU) Governing Council, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to educational excellence and institutional accountability.

The new LASU Governing Council comprises notable professionals and academics including Mr Oluseyi Badmus, Mr Bode Makanjuola, Mrs Mojisola Tolagbe Taiwo, Prof. Shaffudeen Amuwo, Alhaji Rafiu Adisa Ebiti, Ms Kofo Durosimi Etti, Dr Farouk Gumel, Mrs Adenike Akanbi (FCA), Mr Biodun Hundeyin, and Dr Remi Desalu.

Mr Agoro explained that the appointments reflect Governor Sanwo-Olu’s unwavering dedication to promoting good governance, transparency, and people-centred leadership across all sectors.
