Veteran Nigerian comedian Abiodun Ayoyinka was spotted welcoming President Bola Tinubu to Lagos on Thursday, following the President’s return from an official visit to the United Kingdom.
Ayoyinka, widely known for his role as Papa Ajasco, was part of a cultural ensemble assembled to greet the President.
Video footage circulating online captured a brief, cordial interaction between the comedian and the President during the reception.
Just days earlier, Ayoyinka had revealed the financial challenges of portraying the iconic character.
He stated that his earnings have risen only marginally, from ₦22,500 in 1997 to ₦45,000 in recent times, despite decades of dedication to the series.
The comedian explained that the character is officially owned by Wale Adenuga, restricting his ability to use the name, costume, or persona for personal ventures.
