The appeal follows the abduction of victims from Baptist Nursery and Primary School (Yawota), Community Grammar School, and L.A. Primary School (Esiele) in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State on 15 May 2026.

Reports indicate that 39 pupils and seven teachers were taken during the attack, while two teachers have since been confirmed dead, deepening national concern and public outrage.

Victony, in a post on his X handle, directly appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging immediate intervention to secure the release of the victims.

He wrote, “Save our children & Put an end to this mess @officialABAT.”

Davido expressed deep sadness over the incident, describing the situation as unbearable and calling for an end to the cycle of violence affecting innocent citizens.

Reacting via Snapchat, he said, “I’m weak. God pls take control. We can’t continue like this… my heart goes out to the victims and family .. this is messed up.”

Timaya also joined the call for action, issuing a statement urging the Presidency to respond with greater urgency and coordination in tackling insecurity nationwide.

He stressed the need for stronger collaboration and decisive measures to protect vulnerable communities, especially schoolchildren.
