Veteran Nollywood actress and social activist Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has disclosed that her children faced death threats during the EndSARS protests.

The 48-year-old actress made the revelation on Sunday, February 8, 2026, while speaking on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds.

Omotola explained that the threats marked a turning point in her advocacy, compelling her to reconsider her approach to activism. “I am used to death threats; I have received them many times,” she said.

“But I have never seen anything like what happened during EndSARS. It was intense, my kids started getting death threats. That was when it became real, and when I realised this was no longer just about me.”

She recounted how people began visiting her home and workplace searching for her, which heightened her concern for her family’s safety.

“I had to protect others, especially my children,” Omotola added.

The experience led her to shift away from street protests toward more strategic advocacy.

“I can’t control where they go. I can’t protect them as much. I don’t care for my life, but I do care for them,” she said, emphasising the importance of safeguarding her children while continuing her activism.
