Neo Akpofure Credits Don Jazzy for Reigniting His Dreams

Neo Akpofure reveals how a chance meeting with Don Jazzy 10 years ago reignited his dreams and shaped his journey to stardom

Neo Akpofure, reality TV star and Big Brother Naija “Lockdown” alum, has shared how a chance encounter with music mogul Don Jazzy a decade ago transformed his life.

In an emotional Instagram post, Neo revealed he won the MTV Base trivia competition, “A Day with Don Jazzy,” ten years ago.

Although the grand prize was an all-expense-paid trip to South Africa with Don Jazzy and the Mavin crew, Neo, then a University of Calabar student, missed it due to final exams.

Instead, Neo was flown to Lagos, where he met Don Jazzy and received ₦500,000 in compensation—a moment he described as life-changing.

“That single encounter made me believe I could truly be whoever I wanted to be,” Neo Akpofure wrote. “It reignited a fire in me that no circumstance could put out.

Today, a decade later, I look back with so much gratitude.

To Don Jazzy, who without even knowing, re-inspired my dreams—thank you. To God, who has kept every promise He made to me—thank you. I am a living testimony that when grace speaks, destiny listens.”

Don Jazzy responded warmly to the tribute, praising Neo’s character and destiny.

“Bro GOD got you. You are destined for greatness. Everybody I know that knows you always has amazing things to say about you. Makes me happy and I’m proud to have a line or two in your book. More blessings ahead,” he wrote.
