In a heartfelt interview with Jay-on-Air, Nigerian rapper and music executive MI Abaga opened up about marrying later than many of his peers.

At 37, he admitted feeling uneasy about being single while friends had teenagers or college-bound children.

“I used to feel bad seeing friends who married at 25 or 26 now have 14-year-old kids,” he shared.

I met a lot of kind women, but I just wasn’t ready

However, things shifted when he met his now-wife at 40. They tied the knot when he was 41.

MI described it as a blessing that came at the right moment, after a breakup and a long period of personal growth.

He also looked back on past relationships, acknowledging his own immaturity and emotional unavailability.

“I met a lot of kind women, but I just wasn’t ready,” he said.
