The former Big Brother Naija winner spoke during an appearance on Toke Moments hosted by media personality Toke Makinwa, where she discussed how public perceptions have affected her journey since gaining fame.

Mercy said one of the most common assumptions about her is that someone else finances her lifestyle, particularly rumours linking her romantically with a married man.

She dismissed the claims, revealing that she has been in a committed relationship for four years and sees her current partner as someone she could settle down with.

“Coming out of the house now, I’ve been pushing myself, it’s not been easy, especially when people have perceptions about you,” Mercy said.

She added that she often faces rumours about her personal choices, including repeated speculation about her relationship status.

“The one that everybody knows is, oh, someone is funding my lifestyle, that I’m dating a married man. Apart from being pregnant every week. I have been dating someone for four years. I’m still in that relationship,” she said.

The reality star explained that while she believes marriage could be part of her future, her partner has expressed that he feels she may not yet be fully ready for that step.
