Magixx Says Streaming Farms Are Killing New Artists

Magixx claims streaming farms are hindering breakout artists in Nigeria by occupying chart spots with artificially boosted streams, making it hard for new talent to shine.

Magixx streaming farm claims are stirring new discussions in the Nigerian music scene, as the Mavin Records artist publicly criticized the growing use of chart manipulation.

Taking to his official X handle, Magixx alleged that streaming farms  systems that inflate music streams using bots  are one of the main reasons new breakout artists have become rare in recent years.

“Just so y’all know, the reason why we don’t have enough breakout artists these days is because almost every spot on Apple Music is bought!” he wrote.

His comment echoes a growing concern in the industry: that top chart positions are no longer based solely on organic fan support but are instead influenced by paid manipulation.

Despite his claims, the topic remains controversial.

Last year, Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy denied using streaming farms to boost his artists’ numbers.

He insisted the practice doesn’t exist in any credible form and even if it did, Mavin wouldn’t engage in it.
