The Nollywood veteran, whose real name is Toyin Afolayan, shared her experience during a recent interview, where she reflected on life after the death of her husband and the realities of raising children without societal support.

“Paying school fees, putting food on the table every day, and meeting all other responsibilities without help is not an easy task,” she said.

“After my husband died, I had to carry the weight alone. Society is quick to criticise single mothers, but they rarely ask how we’re coping. There’s very little support, and that makes it tough,” she explained.

Despite the challenges, the beloved Yoruba actress encouraged single mothers to remain strong and focused, prioritising the well-being of their children above all else.

“Don’t be discouraged. Don’t listen to those who look down on you. Focus on raising your children well—that is your power,” she advised.
