Lasustech students express frustration over a prolonged electricity blackout disrupting exam preparations, urging NEPA to restore power and support academic success

Lasustech students are calling for urgent intervention after  lasustech students electricity blackout affected study conditions during their ongoing exams.

The outage began over 24 hours ago, disrupting hostel areas around the first and second gate, where many students reside.

“It’s not the first time we’re experiencing power failure,” said one student. “But this time, it’s really affecting us. We have exams and most of us can’t read at night or charge our phones and laptops.”

Many students say the blackout has forced them to seek alternatives like cybercafés to prepare. “I had to go to a cybercafe just to prepare for my exam because my hostel hasn’t had light since yesterday,” shared another student.

No official statement has been made by NEPA or Ikeja Electric. The silence has only deepened the frustration on campus.

“We plead with NEPA to please do something about this,” a student added. “We really rely on the light to read and complete our schoolwork, especially now that exams are ongoing.”

Despite repeated complaints to hostel managers and power officials, the problem remains unresolved. Students insist that stable power is vital to their academic performance.
