Korede Bello Shares Insight on Christian Faith

Korede Bello shares a faith reflection, urging Christians to embrace the risen Christ and focus on love as the core of their identity

Nigerian singer Korede Bello, 31, shared a reflective message on faith in a video on Instagram, reaffirming his commitment to Christianity and urging believers to focus on the risen Christ rather than Christ on the cross.

Korede Bello questioned the traditional emphasis on Jesus’ crucifixion, explaining that as a Christian, Christ’s sacrifice is complete.

“Does Jesus still belong on the cross? Before you crucify me, please be aware that I am a Christian and Christ has already died for me. He has already been crucified for me, so there’ll be no need for that,” he said.

The singer, who was born a Muslim but converted to Christianity through personal study of the Bible, said his reflection came during a moment of prayer.

He highlighted that his faith and identity reside in the risen Christ, seated next to the Father.

“I was praying and looking at the cross when it hit me that He’s no longer on it. When I think Jesus, I think my identity is seated right next to the Father. That’s where I am,” he explained.

Korede Bello stressed the resurrection as central to Christianity, citing Apostle Paul: “If Christ has not risen, then your faith is futile.”

He expressed concern that many Christians remain fixated on Christ’s crucifixion rather than embracing the spiritual renewal offered through resurrection.

The singer also emphasised love as the true measure of Christian identity, referencing Jesus’ teaching: “People will know you’re my followers by the love you have for each other.”

He clarified that communion represents true remembrance, not the repeated focus on the cross.
