King Kosoko Offers Buy-One-Get-One-Free Tickets on October 1

King Kosoko tickets will be available on a buy-one-get-one-free offer at selected cinemas nationwide on Nigeria’s Independence Day

Teqsus Studios has announced a buy-one-get-one-free offer onKing Kosoko: The Battle For Lagos tickets at selected cinemas across Nigeria on Thursday, October 1, 2026, as the country marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.

The promotion will apply to all showings of the historical epic on Independence Day, giving audiences an opportunity to watch the film with a companion under the special cinema offer.

Directed by Adebayo Tijani, the film stars Femi Adebayo as Oba Kosoko and has earned more than N65 million at the Nigerian box office since its August 28 release through FilmOne Entertainment.

The film explores Oba Kosoko’s resistance to British imperial expansion and his efforts to defend the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Lagos.

The historical events depicted in the film culminated in the bombardment of Lagos in 1851, an episode remembered as the Salt Water War, or Ogun Olomiro.

Ayo Ajayi and Segun Olojo-Kosoko produced the film, with Ajayi also serving as executive producer. Olojo-Kosoko is a Lagos prince and seventh-generation descendant of Oba Kosoko.

Ajayi said the Independence Day promotion was intended to connect the national celebration with the historical story presented in the film.

“Independence Day is exactly what this film is about, a people determined to govern themselves,” Ajayi said.

“There is no better day for Nigerians to see the story of a king who refused to surrender his kingdom’s sovereignty,” he added.

The promotion comes as the film continues its theatrical run and seeks to bring its account of Lagos history to a wider Nigerian audience.

The cast includes Odunlade Adekola, Prince Jide Kosoko, Fathia Balogun, Gabriel Afolayan, Femi Branch, Tina Mba, Yinka Quadri, Dele Odule, Aishat Lawal, Kolawole Ajeyemi, Niyi Johnson and Sola Kosoko.

King Kosoko: The Battle For Lagos is presented in Yoruba with English subtitles, combining historical drama with a largely Yoruba-language production.

The Independence Day offer will be available at all Filmhouse Cinemas, Silverbird SEC, Silverbird Galleria and Silverbird Kaduna, where tickets are offered, as well as selected independent cinemas nationwide.

The promotion gives the historical film an additional connection to the October 1 celebration, with the studio inviting audiences to mark the national holiday through a story centred on sovereignty, resistance and Lagos history.
