Harrysong admits to a polygamous relationship after separating from his wife, saying all partners consent and sparking debate

Nigerian singer Harrison Tare Okiri, popularly known as Harrysong, said in Lagos on Tuesday that he is now in a polygamous relationship following his separation from his wife, Alexer Peres, describing the arrangement as consensual and respectful among all partners.

Speaking in an interview with Yanga FM in Lagos, the Reggae Blues crooner said every one of his current partners is aware of the others and willingly participates in the relationship.

Harrysong said the arrangement is built on consent and transparency, insisting that no one is being coerced or deceived.

“Everybody is being treated right and respectfully. Everyone willing join. No one was forced,” the singer said.

He added that some of his partners are foreigners, including at least one American, and argued that lifestyle choices should not be dictated by public opinion.

“There is nothing wrong with it. Just do whatever makes you happy. Don’t force your opinion on anyone,” he said.

The remarks follow Harrysong’s public separation from his wife in 2024 after three years of marriage, a split that was accompanied by bitter accusations on both sides.

Harrysong alleged at the time that his former wife became pregnant for another man while they were still living together and claimed they had not been intimate for over a year.

Alexer Peres denied the allegations, accusing the singer of domestic violence and infidelity, including claims that he cheated on their wedding night.
