Fave Davido collaboration has captured fans’ attention after the Nigerian singer, Chidozie Godsfavour Ugochinyere, popularly known as Fave, revealed the backstory of her hit song with Afrobeats megastar Davido.

In a candid interview with Nancy Isime, Fave shared that the Kante collaboration came to life after Davido reached out to her via Instagram.

She had already recorded the song months before, but Davido saw something special in it.

“Davido hit me up on Instagram and said, ‘I’m wrapping up my album and I’d love for you to be on it,’” Fave recalled. “He made it clear that although it would be Davido featuring Fave, he wanted it to feel like our song.”

After sending three tracks to the superstar, he chose Kante, which went on to become a fan favorite and a powerful testament to their creative synergy.

The Fave Davido collaboration wasn’t just a career milestone—it was a deeply personal journey.

The singer opened up about the challenges she faced breaking into music, particularly her strict upbringing.

“My parents were very strict. They were worried music would distract me from school,” she said. “But I kept writing—books filled with songs and poems. Now, writing deeply is just who I am.”

Despite the early resistance from her family, Fave’s determination and passion for music helped her breakthrough, earning a spotlight on one of Nigeria’s biggest stages.
