Rapper Dremo Drops Shocking Details on Why He Quit DMW

Dremo Exit from DMW explained as the rapper cites limited support, lack of collaboration, and focus on Davido as reasons for leaving

Rapper Dremo on Tuesday disclosed that his departure from Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) was influenced by concerns over the record label’s management structure, stating that attention was largely centred on the label’s founder, singer Davido, to the detriment of other signees.

Speaking during a recent interview on Echo Room, Dremo explained that the environment within DMW did not provide sufficient support for the growth of other artistes on the label, a situation he described as limiting for his career development.

The rapper said his experience, which shaped the Dremo Exit from DMW, revealed a lack of collaborative output among label mates and an absence of collective projects such as a label album.

He noted that artistes were primarily focused on sustaining their individual careers rather than working together under a unified label strategy.

According to him, the management’s emphasis on Davido created an imbalance that affected the visibility and progress of other talents within the label.

He added that this structure made it difficult for him to achieve the level of exposure and support he had initially expected when signing with the imprint.

Dremo further stated that DMW functioned more as a platform than a fully supportive record label in his experience, noting that financial backing and developmental opportunities were limited.

He explained that these shortcomings contributed to his decision to pursue an independent career path.
