Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has publicly addressed what she described as a painful betrayal involving fellow actress Ekene Umenwa, stating that although forgiveness has been extended, the emotional wound remains.

Destiny Etiko shared the strongly worded message on her verified Instagram page, reacting to alleged fabricated stories circulated about her.

The actress said the individual involved had asked for forgiveness, which she granted, but insisted that the damage to her reputation could not be erased.

“You asked for forgiveness, and I forgave you. But I can’t forget, because this is an abomination and a dent to my name,” she wrote.

Destiny Etiko explained that the alleged falsehoods stemmed from praise she received for being devoted to her mother, claiming the attention triggered resentment.

According to the actress, multiple lies were told about her, leading to distress not only for her but also for her family.

The actress revealed that her mother had received numerous calls regarding the controversy and was deeply saddened by the situation.

The emotional impact, she said, has been profound.

“I can’t remember hurting you. I have forgiven, but I can’t forget. I’m pained because my mum herself has received a lot of calls,” she stated, questioning why someone she considered a sister would betray her trust.

The development follows a recent video shared by upcoming actress Adanma Waller, also known as Priscawalls, in which allegations were made about Ekene Umenwa speaking negatively about several Nollywood colleagues.

Among those mentioned were Ruby Ojiakor, Lizzy Gold, Chioma Chijioke, Uche Nancy and Chinedu Isaac.

While Ekene Umenwa has yet to publicly respond to the claims, the unfolding situation has sparked intense reactions within the Nollywood community and among fans online.
