Dee One to Attend Police Interview Over Viral Video

Ex-BBNaija star Dee One to attend police interview over viral video, says he will honour summons and share updates with Nigerians

Aderombi Adedayo, popularly known as Dee One, a former Big Brother Naija housemate and comedian, announced on Thursday that he has been invited by the Nigeria Police Force, Force Intelligence Department (FID), for a routine interview in Lagos.

The invitation, signed by the Commissioner of Police, FID, directs Dee One to report through the OCCIOS team to the FID Annex Office for a fact-finding session.

Dee One suggested the summons may be connected to a video he shared recently, which sparked wide reactions on social media.

In the video, he commented on an incident involving Nigeria’s President during a visit to Turkey, and opinions have varied, with some critics accusing him of cyberbullying.

“I saw something strange that happened in Turkey involving our President, our dear President, and I shared my views as an ordinary Nigerian,” Dee One said.

He added that he would not apologise if the invitation is linked to his comments, emphasising that he expressed his personal views as a citizen.

Dee One assured the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, that he will honour the invitation.

He confirmed plans to report to the police office on Monday and pledged to keep the public updated on any developments.
