Nigerian singer Burna Boy has responded to widespread criticism after reportedly asking a couple to leave his show in Denver.

During a livestream on Instagram, the Grammy-Award-Winning artist clarified that he does not force anyone to be his fan.
“I force anybody to be my fan?” he asked rhetorically, emphasising that support and admiration cannot be compelled.
The singer’s decision to remove the attendees sparked backlash, with critics arguing that he appeared proud and unapproachable.
Burna Boy, however, defended his stance, revealing he prefers a fan base willing and able to financially support his shows, suggesting he does not want “broke” supporters.
The incident comes amid ongoing discussions about celebrity expectations and fan behaviour at live events. While some praised his honesty, others accused him of being insensitive to his audience.
