A$AP Rocky Harlem rent giveaway will cover tenants’ January payments as he promotes his new album through a partnership with Bilt

American rapper Rakim Mayers, professionally known as A$AP Rocky, has partnered with renter loyalty platform Bilt to cover the January 2026 rent for residents of the Harlem apartment building where he grew up, linking the initiative to the promotion of his forthcoming album, Don’t Be Dumb.

The collaboration forms part of Bilt’s new “Rent Free” campaign and doubles as a marketing platform for the internationally recognised artist’s highly anticipated release.

Bilt confirmed that the company will pay the January rent for tenants in the building in Harlem, New York, where Rocky spent part of his childhood, describing the move as both a community initiative and a cultural collaboration.

As part of the campaign, Bilt has produced a limited-edition vinyl version of Don’t Be Dumb, designed by A$AP Rocky and featuring New York City-themed artwork that references his uptown roots.

“This vinyl is my love letter to New York,” Rocky said in a statement.

“Being able to give back to the exact place that raised me while helping people across the country with their rent is the kind of partnership that actually matters.”

Rocky will also appear as a contestant on a special edition of Bilt’s monthly game show, Rent Free, where members can win rent payments of up to $2,500.

The top 10 participants will also receive signed copies of the artist-designed vinyl.

Explaining his motivation, A$AP Rocky said the project was rooted in a deep connection to place and community.

“For me, it’s always been about your community and neighbourhood. Harlem made me who I am,” Rocky said.

“When Bilt said they wanted to cover rent for everyone in the same building where I grew up, that hit different.”

Industry observers say the campaign represents a powerful blend of promotion and philanthropy, with the artist using his platform to provide tangible support to residents while building momentum for his next release.
