Asake dominates Nigeria’s streaming era, leading all-time most-streamed albums with 661M streams for ‘Work of Art’

Nigerian singer Asake has cemented his dominance in the country’s digital music landscape, leading the list of all-time most-streamed albums in Nigeria, according to TurnTable Charts.

Asake’s 2023 sophomore album, Work of Art, tops the rankings with 661.2 million streams, while his debut, Mr Money With The Vibe, follows closely at 634.4 million.

His third album, Lungu Boy, ranks sixth with 387.4 million streams, highlighting the singer’s remarkable consistency and popularity.

Spotify Nigeria recently named Asake the platform’s most-streamed artist since its Nigerian launch in 2021, underlining the singer’s influential presence in the streaming era.

Since breaking into the mainstream with the Ololade Asake EP in January 2022, Asake has blended energetic rap flows with Fuji-inflected melodies, under the production of Magicsticks, delivering a string of hits that have reshaped contemporary Afrobeats.

While Asake dominates the top six, other Nigerian stars also feature prominently.

Burna Boy claims three spots, including Love, Damini at number four with 436.8 million streams, and I Told Them at number nine with 308 million.

Davido’s Timeless ranks fifth with 428.5 million streams, and Wizkid appears twice with Morayo and Made In Lagos.

Seyi Vibez also features twice with Billion Dollar Baby and Thy Kingdom Come.

TurnTable Charts’ full Top 20 list since 2020 underscores Asake’s supremacy as a streaming powerhouse while demonstrating the vibrant competition in Nigeria’s music scene.
