Sowore bail was granted by an Abuja magistrate court on Friday, October 24, 2025, following his arrest during the #FreeNnamdiKanu protests.

Rights activist and Sahara Reporters publisher Omoyele Sowore, alongside 12 other defendants, was released after being remanded for allegedly inciting public disturbance.

The arrests occurred at various locations across Abuja on Monday, with the group’s alleged activities linked to the protest on Tuesday. Among those granted bail is Aloy Ejimakor, former counsel to Nnamdi Kanu.

Other defendants include Emmanuel Kanu, Joshua Emmanuel, Wilson Anyalewechi, Okere Kingdom Nnamdi, Clinton Chimeneze, Gabriel Joshua, Isiaka Husseini, Onyekachi Ferdinand, Amadi Prince, Edison Ojisom, Godwill Obioma, and Chima Onuchukwu.

Magistrate Abubakar Umar Sai’I set the bail at N500,000 for each defendant. Conditions for release included presenting verified national identification numbers (NIN), passports, and three-year tax clearance certificates.

The court’s decision has been welcomed by supporters of the #FreeNnamdiKanu movement, while authorities continue to monitor compliance with the bail conditions.
