The Davido new album Afrobeats vision reflects what the artist described as a conscious decision to prioritise cultural identity, marking a pivotal moment in a career already defined by global influence and chart success.

“We’ve done it,” Davido said, in reference to his international achievements, suggesting a sense of fulfilment after years of breaking into Western markets and collaborating with major global acts.

Having performed on some of the world’s biggest stages and amassed a vast international following, Davido now appears focused on creating music that resonates more deeply with his roots and original sound.

Industry observers say the move could prove powerful, as Afrobeats continues to expand globally while maintaining its cultural essence.

Over the past decade, Davido has played a key role in elevating Nigerian music on the world stage, with multiple international collaborations, award nominations and record-breaking streams reinforcing his position as one of Africa’s most influential artists.

Although details such as the album title and release date remain undisclosed, anticipation is already building among fans and industry watchers.

The momentum is further heightened by the announcement of Davido’s self-curated event, Davido and Friends Fest, scheduled to take place at Crystal Palace Bowl in London on 14 August 2026.
