Cardi B Calls Nigerian Keeper Okoye Really Sweet

Cardi B calls Maduka Okoye really sweet and kind after Paris and Venice sightings, without confirming they are dating

American rapper Cardi B has described Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye as really sweet and very kind, and giggled “I hope so” when asked if fans would see more of him, remarks that have added heat to dating talk neither of them has confirmed.

The comments came as she discussed music, motherhood and her life after divorce around her Vogue Arabia cover. The 27-year-old Udinese shot-stopper had already been seen with her in public.

They were first linked at Paris Fashion Week in July, when Mr Okoye helped her into a seat and sat beside her at a show.

They were later photographed at dinner with friends at Gio’s in The St. Regis Venice. There was no reported public display of affection. They looked at ease.

Cardi B said Mr Okoye can seem strict and stern on social media but is different in person. She called him really sweet and very kind.

The “I hope so” line, delivered with a laugh, is the closest she has come to inviting further appearances together.

Neither Cardi B nor Mr Okoye has said they are a couple. Sightings and a warm interview line are not a status update.

Online reaction in Nigeria has ranged from congratulations to jokes about money and celebrity dating, which says more about the audience than about the pair.

Until one of them speaks in plain terms, Cardi B Okoye remains a rumour with photographs, a fashion week evening and a compliment. Sweet, in her words. Unconfirmed, on the record.
